Everything Luma Bio sells is supplied for laboratory research use only. This page sets out what that means, who may purchase, and what we will not do. It is referenced by our Terms and Conditions and forms part of them.
Research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
The materials on this site are supplied strictly as laboratory reagents for in-vitro research and analytical work by qualified professionals. They are not drugs, food, cosmetics, dietary supplements, or medical devices. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition in humans or animals, and they must not be administered to either.
Regulatory status
None of the materials offered here has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or by any comparable authority in another jurisdiction, for human or veterinary use. Nothing on this website has been evaluated by the FDA.
Where a compound shares a name with an approved pharmaceutical product, that similarity is chemical, not regulatory. It does not make the material we supply a medicine, an equivalent, a generic, or a substitute for one. Approved medicines are manufactured, tested, labelled and distributed under controls that a research reagent is not subject to.
What we do not provide
We do not provide, and will not provide on request:
- Medical, clinical, veterinary or pharmaceutical advice of any kind
- Dosing information, administration routes, cycles, schedules or protocols
- Guidance on reconstitution intended for administration to a person or animal
- Claims, comparisons or evidence regarding therapeutic effect, safety or efficacy
- Recommendations to combine, stack or sequence any materials
- Referrals to prescribers, clinics or telehealth providers
Our staff are not qualified to give this advice and are instructed not to. Requests of this kind will be declined. Persistent requests may result in an account being closed.
Who may purchase
By placing an order you represent and warrant, on your own behalf and on behalf of any organisation you order for, that all of the following are true:
- You are at least 21 years of age and have legal capacity to enter a contract
- You are a qualified researcher, or you are purchasing on behalf of a research institution, laboratory, university or commercial research organisation
- You have the training, facilities and equipment to handle laboratory reagents safely
- You will use the materials solely for legitimate in-vitro research or analytical purposes
- You will not administer them to yourself, to any other person, or to any animal
- You will not resell, repackage, relabel or redistribute them for human or veterinary use
- Your purchase, possession and intended use are lawful where you are and where the order is delivered
These representations are a condition of sale. If we have reason to believe any of them is untrue, we may cancel the order and refund it.
Handling, storage and disposal
Responsibility for safe handling passes to you on delivery. You are responsible for assessing the hazards of any material before you work with it, for using appropriate protective equipment and containment, and for disposing of unused material and packaging in accordance with the rules that apply to your facility and jurisdiction.
Storage conditions and any handling information supplied with a product describe how to preserve the material’s integrity as a research reagent. They are not preparation instructions and must not be read as such.
Jurisdiction restrictions
The legal status of these materials differs by country and, within the United States, by state. It is your responsibility to know and comply with the law that applies to you. We do not provide legal advice on this and cannot confirm whether a given material is lawful at your address.
We ship to the contiguous United States and the District of Columbia only, and do not knowingly ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, military addresses or any address outside the United States. Individual products may carry further restrictions, which are shown on the product page where they apply.
Where an order crosses a border, you are the importer of record. Customs clearance, import permits, duties and any local licensing are your responsibility, and a shipment refused or seized by an authority is not a fault of ours. See our Shipping Policy.
Certificates of analysis
Analytical documentation is made available for the materials we supply. A certificate of analysis describes what testing was performed on a batch and what that testing found. It is a statement about identity and purity as a research reagent. It is not a certification of safety, of suitability for any use, or of fitness for administration to a person or animal, and it must not be presented as one.
To request documentation for a batch you have received, contact lumabiowellness@gmail.com with your order number and the lot number printed on the vial.
Our right to refuse an order
We may decline, cancel or limit any order at our discretion, before or after it is placed. We are most likely to do so where an order appears to be intended for human or animal use, where the delivery address or quantity is inconsistent with research use, where a stated restriction applies, or where we cannot satisfy ourselves that the sale is lawful. If we cancel an order you have paid for, you are refunded in full.
Reporting a concern
If you believe material sold by Luma Bio is being marketed or used for human consumption, tell us at lumabiowellness@gmail.com. We take this seriously and will act on credible reports.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as regulation and our product range change. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your order. Material changes will be noted by the review date at the top of this page.
